WELCOME

Dear colleagues,

We are grateful for your interest in the International Scientific, Educational and Practical Conference «System Analysis in Engineering and Control» (SAEC-2021), which will be held from 13 to 14 October 2021 in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The Conference «System Analysis in Engineering and Control» has been held annually since 1998, and more than two hundred people take part in the scientific event every year.

The main purpose of the Conference is to present and discuss the results of modern scientific research and practical achievements in the field of systems theory, system analysis and control theory.

The SAEC-2021 Conference aim is to bring together scientists, lecturers and enterprises’ representatives who are using the methods of systems theory and system analysis in their activities. The SAEC Conferences’ participants traditionally discuss problems related to the current state of mathematical methods of system analysis, the development of information technologies, production management, quality management, personnel management and project activities.

The papers of the SAEC Conferences’ participants are published in books of Conference Proceedings, which are indexed in the database of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), and since 2019 have the ISSN number. In addition, according to the decision of the Programme Committee, a subset of papers will be selected for further substantial extension and modification. Such modified papers could then be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed books and journals.

The SAEC-2021 Conference Programme includes plenary session, discussions and scientific sessions.

The special session «Transport systems and management of information resources of transport systems» will be organised together with the Laboratory of Information Technologies in Transport of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is planned to hold the session for young scientists and the Student Research Paper Competition.

The SAEC-2021 Conference is planned to be held both in online virtual and in-person modes.

Conference participants will be able to visit modern laboratories and the Historical and Technical Museum of Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University.

On October 15 — 18, 2021, a visiting scientific school «Cognitive Modeling of Complex Systems» is hosted by the Southern Federal University in Taganrog. The head of the scientific school is Dr. of Technical Sciences, Professor Galina Viktorovna Gorelova. Scientific Secretary of the school is Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor E. V. Pakhomov.

We will be glad to see you in October at the SAEC-2021 Conference at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

Yours Sincerely,

Yuri S. Vasiliev, Academician of RAS, SAEC-2021 Conference Chair

The paper submission deadline for the Book indexed in Scopus will be determined later

According to the decision of the Programme Committee, a subset of papers will be selected for publication in peer-reviewed books and journals indexed in Scopus. Only papers written in English with a volume of at least 10 pages could be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed journals.

All submitted for the Book indexed in Scopus papers will be peer-reviewed at least by two reviewers who will make «Accept», «Reject» or «Modify» decision on the submitted manuscript. The final decision on the suitability of a manuscript will remain with the Programme Committee.

The manuscript should follow the IMRaD format :

  • Title
  • Authors
  • Keywords
  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Materials and methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments
  • References

Origin, motivation and contribution

All papers should present novel research results of international interest. Papers should cover topics within the scope of the Conference. All papers are thoroughly checked for plagiarism. Acceptable minimum of originality is 90%.

Papers for the Book indexed in Scopus should be about 10-12 pages.

All papers must be submitted and presented in English. Please make sure that all equations, tables and illustrations contain text in English. Submissions with poor English may be rejected.

Ethics

The papers submitted for the Conference should be original research manuscripts, never published before and not under consideration for publication in any other conference proceedings (journal etc.). Please read the detailed Elsevier Publication Ethics (Elsevier recommendations and COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors). If a paper contains figures or tables taken from other sources, the author must get the reproduction permission from the copyright owners.

The recommended maximum number of authors in a single paper is 6. In general, one person should author no more than 2 papers. The corresponding author is the person chosen within the group to be responsible for all contact and correspondence with the Conference organisers. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors (and no inappropriate co-authors) are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and agree on its submission for publication.

Submission Rules

Authors are invited to submit papers for the Scopus- indexed Book of Conference Proceedings, that will be published in the «Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems» series, Springer, via the EasyChair conference management system.
